Community Health Promotions Education and Prevention Volunteer Opportunities
If you know anyone who would like to volunteer with our prevention department please be advised of following training dates.  Orientations are held here at NMAS in one of the two front conference rooms, from 6-8pm.

Women's Health Project - Provides education to women at risk for HIV/STDs as well as offers comprehensive information about general women's health issues.  In addition, the Women's Health Project trains women in the community to become peer educators, including Project AWARE, an innovative prevention education program that works closely with the Women's Correctional Facility in Grants, New Mexico.  Volunteers are needed to help put together education materials, safer sex kits, help with HIV testing and help with materials for Project AWARE.

Men's Health Project - Offers information and education to men at risk for HIV/STDs in Albuquerque and the rural communities of northwestern New Mexico.  The project provides support and services that promote safer sex and healthy lifestyles.  Volunteers needed to put together education materials, safer sex kits, and help with HIV testing.

MPower - Reaches out to gay and bisexual men (ages 18-29) to promote safer sex choices, social interaction, and a positive sense of community.  MPower offers ongoing innovated outreach events and programs.  Particularly good for volunteers interested in empowering young, gay men and getting directly involved in the community.
